IZAKAYA is best translated as ‘ pub ‘, a cornerstone of the Japanese food culture. The concept of IZAKAYA is authentic but not traditional. The dishes are served on small plates, the guest can order as many or few dishes as they want to. The dishes are meant to share with each other and they invite you to a conversation about new textures and flavours. The vision of IZAKAYA: try at least one dish that you’ve never eat.

Traditional techniques are combined with its own innovative signature, with spectacular dishes. In addition to the specialties of the Robata grill, IZAKAYA offers a menu of Sakana – a variety of small dishes, and the Hibachi Osume – fire bowl – a Japanese small hot plate on charcoal. In addition, daily fresh sashimi and delicious maki rolls are served. The extensive wine cellar has top wines from all corners of the world, of which a selection of 13 wines by the glass is served.

IZAKAYA has a range of house-infused tonics with Japanese Shochu as basis. Shochu is distilled from barley, buckwheat and sweet potato. It is the ultimate basis for the well-being tonics but also for a wide selection of exclusive and surprising beverages. Of course you will find the more traditional cocktails at IZAKAYA.

The restaurant has been designed by the internationally acclaimed interior designers, BK Architects who took the traditional Japanese Izakaya to a higher level. The design is based on centuries-old classic Izakaya areas and in addition it is inspired by the five traditional Japanese elements: fire, Earth, air, water and the sky. The design of IZAKAYA is authentic and simple that creates a stylish and vibrant atmosphere that quite fits the needs of a cosmopolitan.
