After five years of intensive research, the restoration of The Night Watch by Rembrandt at the Rijksmuseum has begun. The old varnish is being removed to optimally preserve the artwork for future generations. This is being done with microscopic precision before the eyes of the public in a specially designed glass chamber, under the name Operation Night Watch.
