Fenix in Rotterdam, set to open its door on May 16, 2025, is the first museum in the world that tells stories of migration through art. Stories of love and goodbyes, coming home and feeling at home, navigating identity or seeking happiness.
Fenix is situated in Katendrecht, and was once part of the world’s largest warehouse. This place is one of departure and arrival. On the waterfront around the warehouse, people boarded boats to set out on a new life abroad, or they came ashore and came home.
